Habitat for Humanity of Westchester is successful because of the many volunteers who selflessly donate their time and talents. There is more involved than just construction, and there are many ways in which your skills can help Habitat for Humanity of Westchester. If you would like to get information on the specific committees involved in the decision making for HFH of Westchester, click on Committees on the toolbar above.
To become a volunteer:
Please note: ALL VOLUNTEERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 must have a signed Parental Permission/Waiver of Liability to go on site. Click here for more information.
 
For Individuals
It is mandatory for all individuals who have never volunteered with us before to attend one of our Volunteer Orientation Sessions before they come out to a site. The session usually lasts about 45 minutes to an hour and covers the basic principles of Habitat and the different volunteering opportunities that exist within our organization. For Groups
To get your company, religious group or organization involved in HFHW, please do one of the following:

Once you have a date approved by the HFHW office please complete a Group Volunteer Roster to bring with you to the site and facilitate the sign in process. Click here to access this form. Please make sure that all volunteers under the age of 18 have a signed permission slip/waiver.
 
National Service

Help AmeriCorps help Habitat!  In the 2008-2009 year, over 500 AmeriCorps affiliates all over the country will help build nearly 2,000 houses and rebuild and retain nearly 200,000 volunteers. 

The volunteer posistion entails:    

  • record and document all volunteer inquiries
  • create and manage volunteer calender schedule in sync with construction calender
  • update volunteers with work sites and build locations as needed
  • obtain volunteer posistions from construction to fill as needed
  • process all waivers and sign-in sheets into database
  • cordinate Habitats' needs with volunteers availibility and schedule
  • return volunteer phone call inquiries
  • respond to all volunteer emails
  • report weekly on available individual volunteers to volunteer coordinator
